Eric Nelson

Eric Nelson was born in 1972 in Ottumwa, Iowa and raised in Kansas City, Missouri.  Eric hails from a music loving family who influenced his craft from the very beginning. His father played bass and sometimes toured with an eight-piece rock-n-soul band. While Eric played on the living room floor, his dad rattled the windows with his bass or put needle to the vinyl.

Eric’s style varies from song to song. His music has a distinct modern edge with traditional flavor.  Some of his music has a snappy Simon & Garfunkel groove like "Late in the Evening." Some has a rock-n-roll/blues swagger, like Jim Croce's, "You Don't Mess Around with Jim." While others reflect a fun country/folk vibe such as John Prine, or Todd Snider.

Eric has been performing in the Midwest for more than 15 years.  He’s played coffee houses, bars, private parties and large music festivals.  He has made local television and several radio appearances.  He has 2 independently released CD’s, “Bewilderbeast”, and most recently, “Songbird”.
