The Glenn Miller Birthplace Society (GMBS) operates it office and retail office on Clarinda’s Historic Town Square.  Our hours are 9-5 every weekday. 

GMBS began 1976 and has grown to 1500 members in 49 states and 24 countries.  From its modest beginning with a small dedication ceremony on the lawn of Glenn’s birthplace, the Glenn Miller Festival has grown to a four-day event with musical groups from all over the United States and the world.

Membership was established in 1978, and the first newsletter was published in 1980.  With that first edition, a section was created to sell merchandise - the first items were T-Shirts, postcards and a money clip with the Society logo.

Over our history, we have sold a variety of memorabilia including records (yes, the real, black disks to play on an actual record player), CDs and videos related to the Big Band Era, coffee cups, caps in all colors imaginable, candles, sweatshirts, polo shirts, special stamp cancellations, many books about the Big Band Era, thimbles, spoons, pens, small Glenn Miller stamp pins, postcard, lanyards, and our special Glenn Miller Calendar. 

Our memorabilia offerings will be expanded when a Glenn Miller Birthplace Museum is built within the next two years.
