Sweet Desires Bakery

Sweet Desires Bakery owner, Jo refers to herself as a farm wife that has “gone to town”. She started out baking out of her home as a part-time job while working as a bookkeeper. Then in 2002 after the bakery that had been in Corning had been closed for over a year, she decided she would buy the building and open up her own bakery.

Since then, Sweet Desires has become a family-run operation. Each morning Jo’s husband comes in and fries the donuts, and her mom is there to lend a hand as well.

Jo was born and raised in Corning, where she and her husband now farm. They have four grown children, all who have chosen to stay in the area to raise their three grandchildren.
